Renovation Time!

So with the baby on the way soon, like in less than 2 months, renovation has officially begun. We were using the upper level of our house as storage. We decided to split the big room in half, use one as living space and the other as storage. There were boxes galore up there. It took a good 2 weeks to go through each one and get rid of things we didn’t need, which was more than half the stuff. Of course! Don’t worry. I did all of the heavy lifting while my very pregnant wife chipped in with the sometimes difficult decision making process of what to keep and what to throw away. Basically, we followed the rule of throwing away stuff that we haven’t used in 5 years, except stuff that holds sentimental value. She gave me a lot of dirty looks when I asked over and over again “Can I keep this?” with that sad puppy dog look. Didn’t work. Not even once. Out it went. Hahaha.

Anyways, since I would likely burn down my house if I take this on myself, we decided to hire professionals. Work will begin tomorrow morning.

This is what the space looks like with all the boxes and junk moved out. Wow!

Looking towards what will become the storage area. Furnace on the right side will also be replaced with a high efficiency unit. We are also having a humidifier and air filter installed with the furnace.

R.I.P. our beloved cat Lucca

If you couldn’t tell already, we absolutely adore cats. We treat them as part of our family. We can’t imagine life without them. So when 2 days after Thanksgiving, we lost our oldest cat Lucca, after a long struggle with Cancer, we were absolutely heartbroken. We had decided to put her to sleep a few days before Thanksgiving because she wasn’t getting any better and as humans, we have the responsibility of making that tough decision for the cat. She got to enjoy Thanksgiving with some friends, so I think that was great. On Saturday, we brought her to the Vet. He agreed with our decision. She went quietly and peacefully to sleep then up Kitty Heaven. We will miss her dearly.

Rest in peace Lucca. We will always love you and we will see you again.

I’m so very sorry for your lost. It’s must be hard to let her go. I’m sure you have done the right thing helping her rest in peace.

Ana and Peter Married!

Joined Small Moments Studios to shoot Ana and Peter’s wedding. Great and spontaneous couple. Ana looked absolutely stunning. Peter’s an MMA fighter. How cool is that? I made sure I was on my best behavior!:)  The ceremony was on the grounds at the Chuang Yen Monastery . They had visited the Monastery before and really liked the scenery so they decided to have their ceremony there! It was a small ceremony with only family and close friends in attendance. It was cold and windy so we were all wearing coats! But it provided for some interesting backdrops.  The reception was held at the Hammond Museum where the guests were mingling, dancing, eating, and having a great time. As usual, I had lots of fun shooting with Small Moments Studios!

Congrats Ana and Peter!!!
