This past Sunday was the Championship game between the Junks and the Jokers. It was a hotly contested game. The Jokers took the early lead but the Junks chipped away and was closing in on their opponent. It was 4-3, bottom of the 9th inning. Unfortunately the Junks came up just short. It was truly an exciting game to witness and honestly, either team could have won it. It just wasn’t in the cards for the Junks. I am sure there are going to come back in 2011 all fired up and ready to take the championship away from the Jokers! It was a great run guys. I had a blast watching and shooting your games!!!

Shot some baseball again this past Sunday. It was the second round of the playoffs so the players were pumped up. With another day of solid pitching, patience at the plate and some timely hitting, the Junks secured a W. Great game all around. Next up is the Championship game so emotions are going to be running high!!!

A little change of pace. I shot some baseball for a friend of mine who is on the team. It’s always a nice challenge shooting sports because it’s unlike shooting anything else. It helps that I am actually a huge baseball game so I know how the game flows. Still, I’ll leave the real shooting to those professionals at Yankees stadium with those bazooka lenses!!!

It was a great honor to be able to help shoot this wedding for Ryan Kaplan and Keith at Small Moments Studios. They were super nice guys and it made for a very enjoyable day of shooting!
Jen and Rich were a fun loving couple, as were the bridesmaids and the groomsmen. I think it’s safe to say that everybody had a great time!!!

Saw a great deal on some used PocketWizard Plus II’s so I decided to trade in my Cybersync triggers for them. Turns out the guy I bought them from works for Pantone/x-rite and he was nice enough to include a little “gift” along with the PocketWizards, the x-rite Color Checker Passport. I’ve been using the WhiBal card for white balance purposes, but it looks like the Color Checker Passport will be taking over that duty, and then some!
While I have never ever had any issues with Cybersync triggers, PocketWizard is the industry standard and sometimes when I shoot weddings with other photographers, I either have to borrow or rent PocketWizards so that I can to feed off flashes mounted on light stands, especially during receptions. Problem solved!!!
Got 5 of these:

As you can see, the PocketWizard Plus II is more “robust” than the Cybersync triggers and it’s capable of transmitting or receiving all in one unit.

Here it is mounted on my Nikon D3.

Here’s the nice gift I got from the seller!

My wife and I decided to go to Best Buy today because we thought the TV in our living room needed to be updated. You know, one of those old school 36″ Sony Trinitron XBR TV that weighs over 300 lbs!
Best Buy is always a dangerous place for us to go. We never seem to be able to leave that store empty handed and today was definitely no different. LOL.
We were interested in the latest and greatest with 3D technology. Pretty cool stuff actually. We bought a 46″ Samsung LCD for our bedroom last year so we decided to stick with the brand and ended up with the 58″ Plasma TV with 3D capability. They were running a special so we got a Samsung 3D Blue-Ray player and the 3D Starter Kit that includes a movie and 2 3D glasses for free!
They are supposed to deliver and install on July 18th. The coming week is going to be a rather long one!
Here’s the 36″ Sony Trinitron Circa 2000. Believe it or not, this monster weighs around 300lbs. Yikes!!!

Good thing for Best Buy’s Haul Away plan…because I sure ain’t gonna carry this thing, even with 3 friends!!!
Oh, and here’s the 3D Blue-ray player and glasses just sitting there, taunting me…until Sunday that is…:)

Happy Independence Day everyone!!!
We went to a friend’s apartment right by where they were shooting the fireworks. We had a terrific view from the window and from the rooftop of the building. It was smoldering hot but the fireworks were beautiful!
The Sunset

Moments after the sunset.
And some fireworks!

It was an honor to shoot Kristi and Angela’s wedding with fellow photographer Rob Corbett of Seven Eighteen Photography. This marked our first same sex wedding! It was an extremely joyous day for everyone involved! The scenery couldn’t have been better. The ceremony was right by the Brooklyn Bridge!
The wedding day was an interesting one in that we had two getting ready sessions! Then it was on to the Brooklyn bridge for a picturesque ceremony. The day was capped off with a wild reception party at the Galapagos Art Space.

When Kenneth Kuo, the owner and operator of The Connecticut School of Music contacted me regarding this project, I was pretty excited because the venue was going to be The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center. I am an avid Jazz listener and always wanted to go there. This was my chance to not only be there, but to take photos as the hired photographer!
I have done some projects for Kenneth for the past few years, but this was by far the largest and perhaps the most meaningful one in that it commemorated 10 years worth of great work to give children the opportunity to learn and enjoy music.
As you can see, The Allen Room is an absolutely stunning venue!

The orchestra consisted mainly of students and teachers. Students from the Jazz at Lincoln Center Jazz Academy were also there to to infuse a little bit of Jazz into the day.

The Orchestra was conducted by Kenneth Kuo himself.
The teachers were also there performing and to make sure everything went smoothly. My hats off to Kenneth Kuo and the entire faculty for pulling off a wonderful event!

It was a packed house and proud parents, relatives, and friends lent their support every step of the way.

I had the pleasure of shooting Matthew and Christina’s wedding with fellow photographer Rob Corbett of Seven Eighteen Photography. The day began at Christine’s father’s house where she got ready amongst the controlled chaos that usually accompanies this part of the day on most weddings! The ceremony was at a quaint local church, literally just 5 minutes away from the house. It was a very succinct but emotional ceremony with lots of family and friends on hand. Then it was back to the house for an extravagant backyard reception! I had a blast shooting this wedding. Matthew and Christina made for a great looking couple. Congratulations!!!
